In a recently published book, the historian Melanie Backe Hansen picks the 50 streets that best  illustrate the story of  homes across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. From Roman roads to leafy lanes and all types in between, these 50 have been chosen as the most historically important in the country as examples of our domestic history. And they include not one but three Bloomsbury squares: Bedford Square, Bloomsbury Square and Fitzroy Square.
