10.30 to 11.30am, the Friends of Brunswick Square invite you to a guided stroll round the gardens, highlighting the social and garden history of C18th Brunswick Square: who and what have the ancient trees seen in over 200 years?

3pm in St George the Martyr Church, Queen Square, Friends of St George’s Gardens invite you to Eliza’s Dumplings, performed by Debbie Radcliffe and Jules Date. This is a completely new production with a focus on how the injustice came about – Eliza Fenning, a cook was unjustly hanged for murder in 1815. And there is a bonus, after a tea break – a talk by journalist Sandra Hempel about the development of forensic investigation as people realised the enormity of what had happened to Eliza. Then on Sunday 25 October at 12.30pm a memorial plaque will be unveiled in St George’s Gardens, where Eliza is buried.

2pm to 4.15pm, Russell Square Gardens will become an open-air concert venue. Thanks to the Russell Square Commissioners and the Bloomsbury Association, the London City Brass will be performing a programme of music specially chosen to entertain a broad audience. The concert is free, and everyone is very welcome.
