It’s time for Open Garden Squares again, after two years of Covid disruption. Most of the Bloomsbury Squares are open to the public, but there’s a rare chance to visit the closed gardens of Bedford Square, Montague St Gardens and Mecklenburgh Square.
Nick Andrew, an artist of the outdoors, will have an exhibition in Bedford Square during Open Gardens Weekend on Saturday 11 June and in Montague St Gardens on Sunday 12 June.

Nick’s drawings of the squares were chosen to illustrate the book Bloomsbury’s Squares and Gardens and, as Artist in Residence during the Bloomsbury Festival 2021 his artwork was displayed in an Open Air Art Gallery and he did another series of drawings of the squares. He also sketched in some squares during Chelsea Fringe festival in May.
