The Bloomsbury Festival 2021 starts today with many things to interest you. Look out especially for the Open Air Art Gallery in eight of the Bloomsbury squares. Nick Andrew’s watercolours were created while skecthing in the squares and provide the illustrations for the recent book Bloomsbury’s Squares and Gardens (available from Skoob Books in the Brunswick).
Nick will be sketching in the squares, weather permitting, during the festival. See Light and Shade in the Bloomsbury Gardens for details.
A short film with Griff Rhys Jones takes you Strolling through the Bloomsbury Gardens
and the Queen’s statue in Queen Square (originally called Queen Anne Square) gives her observations of the area in 26 Shining Light.
October Gallery will also be showing the film and video continuously during the afternoon of Tuesday 19 October 1-5 pm. It’s free, just turn up.
