The evening will start with the dedication of a new memorial to this leading anti-slavery activist,
born 250 years ago and buried in the Gardens.
Zachary himself will then lead a walk through the Gardens and into Goodenough College, telling you about our slave-owning past
and the long campaign to end slavery. The evening will finish with a talk from Ryna Sherazi of Anti-Slavery International,
an organisation founded in 1839, a year after Zachary died. The fight against slavery continues.
