An evening with Zachary Macaulay

in the Gardens at 5.45 for 6.00pm on Friday 19th October 2018

The evening will start with the dedication of a new memorial to this leading anti-slavery activist,

born 250 years ago and buried in the Gardens.

Zachary himself will then lead a walk through the Gardens and into Goodenough College, telling you about our slave-owning past

and the long campaign to end slavery. The evening will finish with a talk from Ryna Sherazi of Anti-Slavery International,

an organisation founded in 1839, a year after Zachary died. The fight against slavery continues.
