It’s almost a tradition that we have an autumn walk-and-talk event in the Gardens, so here is this year’s invitation. On Saturday 18 November at 11 am come to St George’s Gardens for a special autumn walk. We’re delighted that Bob Gilbert – the ‘tree man’ who was such a success at the Friends of St George’s Gardens AGM in March – will make a return visit, unravelling our trees’ stories. Bob is an urban ecologist, a writer and naturalist with a particular interest in linking social and natural history. He lives in the East End with wife, family and several chickens. He’s entertaining as well as interesting. Do join us if you can – meet at the Chapel of Rest at 11.00am. And please tell your friends about the walk.
Advance notice: On Saturday 16 December sing carols to help Rohingya refugees. We will be singing carols at noon outside the Chapel of Rest, followed by mulled wine. As usual, we will collect for charity – this year for work in southern Bangladesh to help Rohingya refugees. We will try to match our outstanding 2016 total of £240.
