St George’s Gardens invite you

Not to be missed!  Ken Greenway, from London’s most urban woodland, the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park will be speaking  at The Friends of St George’s Gardens AGM on Tuesday 12 April , 7-9pm, at the Lumen URC Church, 88 Tavistock Place, WC1H 9RS, their usual meeting venue. Ken has worked all round the UK on conservation projects and the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park won the prestigious Observer Ethical Wildlife Award in 2015. His passion and interest in plants also led him to learn more about wild food. He is a keen bat enthusiast with a regular slot at Bat Fest at the Natural History Museum. His interest in bats was used to winning effect when he starred and won in Come Dine With Me. His talk is entitled ‘With a little help from my Friends’.

The annual St George’s Day Party in St George’s Gardens will be on St George’s Day itself this year, Sat 23 April, 2-5pm Musicians will be playing and Jebb the juggler will again be our master of ceremonies. We have a packed programme of entertainments for children, including a  Punch and Judy show and a face painter. Tea and cakes will be served all afternoon at the Handel Street entrance to the Gardens. Entrance is free so don’t miss the highlight of the year for this lovely old Garden.
