On 7 July 2025, London will mark the 20th anniversary of the 7/7 bomb attacks on London’s transport network, with a service of commemoration at the 7/7 Memorial in Hyde Park, organised by the Mayor of London. It will be by invitation for those directly affected but also livestreamed for public viewing.
Fifty-two people died and 700 were injured. The Tavistock Square Gardens memorial (photo: Philip Nelson) honours the 13 people who died when a double-decker bus exploded in front of the British Medical Association office. It also recognises the efforts of the emergency services and the public who helped in the attack’s aftermath.
Another of the deadly attacks occurred on the Piccadilly Line between King’s Cross and nearby Russell Square, when 26 people died.
