St George’s Gardens Summer Party, 8 June

This year’s summer party by Friends of St George’s Gardens is on Saturday 8 June, 2-5pm. Please put the date in your diary and tell friends and neighbours. We’ve a free programme with something for everyone.

Pete Watson’s Marama Café Band will be with us again. We have the Third Age Project’s Ukulele Band, a return visit from last year’s excellent children’s entertainer with circus workshops, Punch and Judy, face-painting, a second hand bookstall. And we will also have a Dance Workshop for children, provided by the Pascal Theatre Company as part of a Lottery Heritage Funded project – Women for Women: 19th Century women in Bloomsbury. You will probably have seen their bench on the north side of the gardens. All events are free. And tea and lovely cakes as usual.

For the second hand bookstall please bring any books that you don’t need to the chapel of rest between 6 and 7pm on Friday 7 June, or on Saturday 8 June between 12 and 1pm. The books will be sold in aid of FoSGG but, as last year, any unsold books will be given to the Friends of University College London Hospitals who also have a second hand bookstall. The UCLH bookstall raises money for ‘extras’ for patients and staff so, sold or unsold on the afternoon, book donations will support a good cause.
