Bird song in Bloomsbury

Chris Watson, Handel Fellow at the Foundling Museum,  recorded bird song in the squares and gardens around the Foundling Museum in Brunswick Square on International Dawn Chorus day on 4 May. He played some sounds and spoke about the project  on the Today programme on Radio 4. His idea is to compare the sounds of today with the sounds of the Foundling Hospital estate in the 18th Century and hopes to find out if the wild and urban sounds the foundlings heard then are different to those of today. The work will be turned into a sound piece  and is intended to be played on radio stations, including Resonance FM, and will be exhibited in the Introductory Gallery at the Museum.
